This is a song I've sung before, but today I'm singing it to a slightly different tune.
For about a year I've struggled with the format of traditional mediumship readings.
Being primarily clairvoyant, I don't get a lot of "Your guide says that you need to blah blah blah, and blah blah blah."
I get: I see a blue house. They're showing me a young girl with brown hair, and freckles. They're showing me a cabin in the woods.
This is all fine and well for live readings, when the client can tell me in the moment what makes sense, but for distance readings I feel like I'm crawling through the dark on my hands and knees, looking for clues. Asking question after question to make sure that I'm getting all the pertinent information for a client is exhausting, especially when I'm not sure if I'm crawling off in the completely wrong direction.
I hated it. I looked at distance readings with dread, and fear.
Despite being validated, despite happy clients, I knew that if I was going to keep communicating with Spirit alone, and sending readings out, I needed a different method. Eventually I was going to start sabotaging myself.
Fortunately, inspiration struck. I conducted an experiment. Instead of asking a million questions, I decided to ask just one.
"What do they need to know? Tell me a story."
I'm also happy with the new format. As a storyteller, I can follow along. It works perfectly when all I get is clairvoyance, and my weaker clairaudience doesn't act as a hindrance. As a medium, all the boxes still get ticked. Symbols, layers of meaning, space for the client and the people in their life, and ultimately, the translation is still out of my hands.
Sure, it's unconventional. And I imagine that some conservative mediums (couldn't write that with a straight face...) might be upset, or think I'm doing it wrong, but there's one solid truth that brought me here and has helped me rediscover my love for connecting to Spirit.
Everyone is different. If something doesn't work for you, try another approach. The world needs every possible expression of light, so don't be afraid to shine with a different hue.
P.S. If you'd like a distance reading in this new format, I've got good news. It's my default now. Live readings will still be done traditionally, but if you want a more affordable way to have your question for Spirit answered, then let's settle in for a story.
