“Calling Cards” are little cues that Spirits (deceased loved ones, guides, angels, etc. etc.) give us to let us know that they’re here. Some people experience it as a specific tingle on a specific part of their body. Here are a few other calling cards:
- hearing (clairaudiently) a particular word or sound
- seeing (clairvoyantly) a particular thing
- knowing (clairgonizantly) that the particular Spirit is there
- feeling (clairsentiently) a specific thing, such as…
-a pinch, or brief pain
-a draft that has no source
-a pressure either in general, or localized
-warmth, either in general, or localized
To give you an example, each one of my guides has a different tingly-itchy calling card spot on my face.
Yeah. My face.
It’s a little bit weird, and I resisted for a long time because why couldn’t they just pick different hands or something? But one guide “touches” the crescent from my left eyebrow to the left side of my chin. Another has the right side. My life guide does a similar sensation to my chin and neck. Another has staked a claim on a line across my forehead.
It’s kind of like Caller ID, for the Spirit world. Different Spirits have different cards.
When does this happen?
Whenever the guide wants you to know that they're around! Some tarot readers experience their guide's calling cards as a way of helping them know when to stop shuffling, or which cards to draw. I experience it whenever I get into a meditative state for a reading, or when one of my guides is dropping by and wants to catch my attention.
So what am I supposed to do with this information?
Do you want to find out who is communicating with you, and work with them? You can try a meet-your-guide meditation, use some form of divination, or have another intuitive look into the matter for you.
Not so interested in speaking to Spirits? Consider the calling card like a friendly wave. Know that you're being watched over. Or, if it freaks you out, then simply ask them to stop.
Want something in-between? Ask your guide to use the calling card only in certain situations. For example, you could ask that your guide use the calling card to alert you when you need to be paying more attention, or when you're about to do something that isn't in your highest good.
