My Journey, Part 3: Crossing the Threshold

Read Part 1: Slamming the Door.

Read Part 2: Peeking Through the Keyhole.

Starting with the picnic, my interest in tarot grew exponentially. I devoured books, websites, and blogs. I started exploring other areas of spirituality, attending psychic fairs, and development and healing circles. One important way I started to explore my new-found spirituality was by watching Long Island Medium.

This was when I first learned what a medium was, and also when I realized that there was something more than tarot out there. Something was happening. I’m not sure how to explain it, other than that everything started to fall into place. I felt like I was standing on a skateboard, on a sidewalk, and someone was pushing me along. I wasn’t sure who they were, or where we were going, only that we were moving forward.

Tarot has been such an integral part of my development.

Tarot has been such an integral part of my development.

Everything came to a head one night. I felt that I needed to go further, learn more, do more, but I wasn’t sure how. I had stumbled on Amanda Linette Meder’s blog, and had seen that she offered training. This was a strange night for me, something snapped, and I panicked.

Amanda was a medium, and I wasn’t sure that I wanted to talk to dead people. But what did I want to do? Why was I drawn to this? Obviously this was important, or I wouldn’t be having a mini-breakdown over it. So I thought long and hard on the matter. I talked to my husband about it. And then I asked for a sign.

That night, I dreamt that I met Titania (yes, Queen of the Faeries Titania) in a field. I curtseyed to her, and I thanked her for seeing me. She said “No, thank you,” which I found to be strange, and overwhelming, and then she handed me a kite the color of the rainbow. There’s more to the dream, but the really important part was the rainbow kite. I woke up and immediately felt like I had someone’s blessing and permission to go about developing my abilities. It was the little push I needed. And the rainbow was the sign that confirmed that Amanda was someone who would help (I later saw that she had a rainbow image holding the place for a service she offered).

Since that dream I’ve been eyeballs-deep in learning and growing. I’ve graduated from a three-month long apprenticeship with Amanda Linette Meder, given hundreds of tarot readings, and scores of mediumship readings. I can truly say that connecting to my guides and spirits, and to the guides and spirits of others, has been one of the most important steps I’ve taken in my life.

I love what I do, and I love how this work can bring such light and healing into other people’s lives.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about my ongoing journey, and of course if you wish to explore your own abilities, or get guidance for yourself, you can purchase a reading with me. I look forward to connecting with you.

Love and light,

Raven
